On the Natural Running Course, you are invited to kick-off you shoes and discover your real feet.  Some do, some don’t but most people don’t need much persuading when it comes to feeling that sand between your toes and the amazing springy sea washed turf!

Your foot is the instrumental link between the ground and the needs of your running body to maintain balance and alignment,  At a moderate running pace,  the foot is in contact with the ground for no more that  2/10’ths of a second.  In this ‘blink’ of time what thoughts and actions you can take before the next foot strike ? By ‘letting go’ you can encourage the foot to become more open and responsive by wakening up the many stretch reflexes at your disposal.

John Woodward has been running barefoot for 25 years and is convinced there are powerful and lasting insights into how to improve balance, suspension and support from the barefoot experience.   “I am continually fascinated with the human body and how the leg and foot have adapted given the range of footwear and inserts we have subjected it to in pursuit of the perfect running style”.
