John Woodward has a lifelong interest with human movement. After taking a degree in psychology he researched into movement control at Nottingham University and afterward played and taught guitar. In 1985 he qualified as an F M Alexander Technique teacher after studying at the Alexander Teaching Associates College in London and with Don Burton in the Lake District. Says John, “I’m not by nature a competitive runner but I’m not a fun-runner either. For me the most direct and honest way of exploring the principles of balance and good human body use is to run over difficult, rugged terrain barefoot - you either get it together or it hurts!”. John’s Alexander Technique practice in Lancaster was established in 1985. TAGS: |
